OFF THE BEATEN PATH
Writer / painter
Janet's professional life centers around art. She has painted in oils all her adult life. Her paintings are accepted in local and regional juried exhibitions and have been honored with awards. She has been honored to serve as a jurist for exhibitions and am in the process of curating an exhibit to open in July 2017 in the Art & Healing Gallery, Capital Health System-Hopewell.
In addition to her love of painting, she loves to write. Her writing, of course, centers on her love of art. She has been writing a weekly Fine Arts column for Times of Trenton (NJ) newspaper for 24 years and enjoy being such an active part of the Central New Jersey and Bucks County, Pennsylvania art communities.
After a rewarding career in education, Lori has now moved her focus back to her art career. As she paints en plein air, she becomes one with nature and her surroundings. The gentle breeze, the quiet sounds, and the fresh air all create a wonderful sense of inner peace. With dancing brushstrokes across her canvas, she is able to express how she is feeling at this moment in time. When viewing her paintings, she hopes that gentle, calmness transcends.
